Mr. Magsig is using this forest and fire issue for political capital. He is a conservative in a Democrat state.
The issue for Mr. Magsig is to reveal the truth about the State of California’s responsibility for management of 3% of forests and policies shared with USFS on private lands. USFS owns 57% of california forest lands, not 53%. He continues to lay a false narrative about climate change and the lack of awareness by the governor to manage forests. This has political capital, but is not true.
I assure everyone that when Governor Newsom took office he started plans for mitigation and mangement. He inherited a 100-year-old problem.
Mr.Magsig has to address this problem comprehensively with truth. This is not a political issue.
