GV Wire℠ stopped by Kirkland’s northwest Fresno location Tuesday afternoon and people were already scurrying for deals.
The entire Marketplace at El Paseo store is going out of business.
Signs reading, “Store Closing,” “Everything Must Go!” and “All Sales Final” greeted shoppers.
Kirkland’s
A Kirkland’s employee said over the phone that the closure had nothing to do with the coronavirus pandemic. However, the employee did say this was the slower of the Fresno area locations. With its lease coming due, ownership decided to close the shop. The inventory is marked down 20%, and the store will close July 14.
Kirkland’s other two locations — the Villagio Shopping Center in Fresno and in Clovis (Highway 168/Sunnyside Avenue) —will remain open.
According to its website, Kirkland’s sells home furnishings, wall décor, decorative accessories, wall art, mirrors, lamps, and rugs.
There appeared to be ample inventory on Tuesday.
