Aly Gamez is on a roll, and so is the Fresno State women’s basketball team.
Gamez scored a career-high 27 points, backcourt mate Haley Cavinder added 20 points, and the Bulldogs steamrolled Colorado State, 79-61, Wednesday night in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Fresno State stayed perfect in the Mountain West at 12-0 and improved to 19-4 overall with its 11th straight victory.
On Jan. 22, while playing at home, the Bulldogs edged the Rams, 55-53, on Gamez’s layup at the buzzer.
Colorado State dipped to 10-13 overall and 4-8 in conference action.
Bulldogs Make 12 of 22 From 3-Point Range
The Rams simply had no answer for the Bulldogs’ torrid 3-point shooting. Fresno State made a season-best 54.5% of its shots from beyond the arc, converting 12 of 22.
Gamez made 11 of her 13 shots, including 5 of 7 on 3-pointers. Cavinder’s all-around stellar performance included 13 rebounds and five assists.
And, when Bulldogs coach Jaime White pulled Gamez and Cavinder in the fourth quarter, the duo had combined for 47 points — just one point less than Colorado State.
